talkSPORT Breakfast presenter and former Scottish international Ally McCoist has a long list of fans.

But the latest person to join that list is someone who is something of a Scotland legend themselves.

McCoist has attracted the praise of none other than Arsenal Women's captain Kim Little.

Little, who has made 144 appearances for Arsenal, also picked up 140 appearances for Scotland before retiring from international duty in 2021.

She praised McCoist, who also starred for Scotland, scoring 19 goals in his 61 appearances.

But it was not McCoist'S skill as a striker that most impressed Little.

"I love listening to him on the commentary - he makes me laugh!" she admitted.

And there was something special about McCoist's commentary that the Aberdeenshire-born midfielder was a huge fan of.

She said: "When I'm watching games, I enjoy them the most when he's the co-commentator, that's all I'd say. Just because you hear his Scottish accent and his terms!"

Little has won three WSL titles during her time at Arsenal, not to mention three FA Cups and five League Cups.

And the Gunners captain and penalty-specialist is hoping to add to that tally before long as she leads her club out against Chelsea in their Conti Cup final match on Sunday 31 March.

The two sides will go head-to-head at the Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton in a repeat of last year's final - a match which saw Arsenal come from behind to take a famous 3-1 victory over the Blues.

And being the defending champions meant the stakes were high for Arsenal, especially with the first trophy of the season up for grabs.

She said: "Knowing we've won it last year, but also on numerous (other) occasions, it's a special game for us. We hope that we can have another moment like that...when we play Chelsea."

Arsenal are going for a record seventh Conti Cup League title this year - no team has won this trophy more times than them as it is, but they have the chance to stretch their own dominance.

The chance to do it against local rivals Chelsea means the match holds greater anticipation, according to Little.

She said: "Our focus is to win the match and to do our job well and to execute what our plan is. But yeah, I think there is extra spice in it. Over the years - with it being a London rivalry - and Arsenal being at the top of the game and then Chelsea being at the top of the game, I think there is this extra element to it in entertainment.

"People really enjoy watching the two teams battle it out. I'm pretty sure...the Cup final will be another one of those games. It'll be exciting to watch and obviously we'll do everything we can to win it - I'm sure just like they will."

Arsenal may well still be reeling from their most recent meeting with Chelsea - a crucial WSL clash at Stamford Bridge which saw the Blues win 3-1 and all but end Arsenal's hopes of winning the WSL this season.

Little admitted that result certainly added extra momentum to an Arsenal team desperate to come away from this season with some silverware.

"When you play a team so close together, it's kind of still in your memory in a way." she said. "Of course we'll want to change that from our league performance against them recently."

But having also recorded a resounding 4-1 win over Chelsea at the Emirates earlier this season, Little insists they are focusing on replicating that sort of performance on the big day.

She said: "We know how to beat them and we need to make sure we can execute that on the day."
