Everton v Brentford preview

Everton head into Saturday's evening Premier League kick off having won three of their last four matches, a run of form which has seen them drag themselves seemingly out of the relegation battle, all but guaranteeing their place in next season's top flight.

Topped off by a 2-0 win over Liverpool in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday night, their first derby win at home in 14 years, Sean Dyche's men will be full of confidence ahead of this weekend's third consecutive home fixture.

Following their derby victory, the Toffees head into the weekend eight points clear of the relegation zone with four matches still to play, and with a far superior goal difference to Luton in 18th, the only side in the bottom three with any chance of catching them.

Everton had gone 17 games in all competitions with only one victory to their name prior to their current run of three consecutive home victories, two of which coming against fellow relegation contenders, and managing to keep a clean sheet in all three outings.

Brentford make the trip to Merseyside on Saturday in a similar situation to the Toffees having pulled together a nice unbeaten streak which appears to have guaranteed their place in the Premier League this season.

A handful of weeks ago, Saturday evening's match would have been seen as a huge relegation six-pointer, but recent results have made this seem more of a mid-table clash, though Brentford will be able to rubber stamp their survival with a win this weekend.

Thomas Frank's side's 5-1 win at Luton last weekend leaves them unbeaten in their last five matches, picking up victories in the last two, leaving them comfortable in 15th, 10 points clear of the relegation zone with only four matches left to play.

Everton have won each their last two matches against Brentford, falling to defeat in only one of their last five, and have been beaten only once by the Bees at Goodison Park in 78 years.

📝 Everton v Brentford betting tips

Yoane Wissa makes the trip to Goodison Park fresh from having scored a brace in last week's win at Kenilworth Road, putting him in double figures for the season and making him the top goal scorer across either team ahead of Saturday's clash.

Everton's James Tarkowski has picked up four yellow cards in his last six Premier League games, which in turn has taken him into double figures for the season and makes him the most carded player in either squad ahead of this weekend's meeting at Goodison Park.

Betfair's pricing of just shy of 17/1 for both teams to score, Wissa to score and Tarkowski to be carded holds some value, can be backed up by recent statistics and looks to be a potential money maker for this weekend's punters.
