New footage shows the heart-wrenching moment Harry Kane realised another golden chance to win a trophy had slipped away.

The England captain and Bayern Munich's spot in the Champions League final looked all but confirmed heading into the final ten minutes of the semi-final clash against Real Madrid.

But a quick-fire double from Joselu late on meant the German giants missed out - and Kane's reaction said it all.

New footage shows the England captain, who had been taken off in the closing stages, sat on the bench and leaning on the seat in front of him, his hand over his mouth as he witnessed his side fall apart.

He then puts his head on the seat in front, appearing to be in complete despair as he realised his wait for a trophy was set to go on.

The German giants, who had already missed out on winning the Bundesliga to Bayer Leverkusen, were 1-0 up thanks to Alphonso Davies netting his first ever Champions League goal in the 68th minute, with Kane bagging the assist.

The former Tottenham striker was then taken off with five minutes left of the tie to go for ex-Stoke striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

That's despite Kane netting 44 goals in all competitions this season and being the Champions League top scorer this term with eight goals.

And almost as soon as Kane and teammate Jamal Musiala were withdrawn, Los Blancos sprung into action.

Ironically, it was Choupo-Moting's fellow former Stoke player Joselu that came on to net a quick-fire double late on to seal victory and a take a spot in the Champions League final, leaving Bayern stunned.

Bayern thought they sent the tie to extra-time with an even later goal only for it to be flagged for offside before it hit the back of the net, with the visitors incensed at the decision.

talkSPORT's Jason Cundy labelled taking Kane off as 'the worst managerial substitution' - but after the game, Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel pointed to Kane having a injury to justify his position.

Harry Kane jokes about Jamal Musiala regret as he reveals he teases Bayern Munich teammate over picking Germany instead of England as his national team ahead of Euro 2024

"He couldn't keep going. He played with back pain and he couldn't keep going, his back froze up," Tuchel said.

Kane does of course have the chance to win a trophy with England this summer, as the Three Lions head to Euro 2024 this June.

But the wait to earn silverware with Bayern continues.

He came incredibly close with Tottenham in the Champions League final, but missed out to Liverpool. He also fell short with England in the Euro 2020 final, losing to Italy on penalties.
