Aston Villa travel to Greece needing to win by a minimum of two clear goals to have any chance of progressing through their Europa Conference League semi final.

Unai Emery's side were surprisingly beaten 4-2 by Olympiacos in last week's first leg at Villa Park, a stadium in which they've been so impressive in the Premier League this season, having beaten the likes of both Arsenal and Manchester City there so far this campaign.

In the Premier League, the West Midlands side need only three points from their final two matches to be absolutely certain of securing a shock qualification into next season's Champions League, which would be their first time Europe's premier club competition since 1983.

Villa only need those three points if Tottenham pick up maximum points from their final three games, but with a title chasing Manchester City to play next week, it's very plausible that Villa may not need another point in the league this season.

Their relative league security means that the Villans can put all of their focus on tonight's European semi final, in which they chase their first major trophy in 41 years, and can book their place in this month's final in Athens against Fiorentina.

Form isn't on Villa's side however, with the team from Birmingham having won just one of their last five games in all competitions and travel to Greece with just one win in their last six matches on the road.

Olympiacos meanwhile, are still firmly in a league title chase in their domestic league, currently sat in third place, three points off the top of the table with just three matches of the season remaining, in a league in which just four points separates the top four sides.

Jose Luis Mendilibar's side have won seven of their last eight matches in all competitions if including their penalty shoot-out win over Fenerbahce as a victory despite losing the second leg, and have also won each of their last four matches at home.

The Greek side have never reached the final of a major European competition before and after earning themselves a two-goal lead from the first leg last week, have put themselves in a fantastic position for their first piece of European silverware.

Last week's bout was the first time the two sides had ever met competitively, but both Spanish managers have come across each other on multiple occasions, with Emery currently leading the head-to-head 7-5 in wins from their 14 matches.
